Street Food Trailer Taking Shape

My new trailer is coming along and being built as we speak. The graphics and exterior aren’t done yet so it looks a bit plain right now!

Our menu is taking shape, here are some things we want to serve:

  • Mains
    • American diner – all mains £6.00
    • Home reared pulled pork in brioche with asian slaw & bbq sauce
    • Buffalo bingo chicken wings with homemade ranch dressing
    • All American Vegan burger with bbq sauce and corn on the cob
  • Sides
    • Corn on the cob £1.50
    • Double cooked sweet potato and regular chips £2.00
    • Maple Baked beans £1.50
    • New York Cheesecake with raspberry coulis or Key Lime pie £2.50

We are planning to launch on January 24th at the Old Minehead Hospital from 5pm to 7pm. You can see more details on this Facebook event page. Come along and try the good – and have a good Christmas in the meantime.

Hello and Welcome to Claire’s Kitchen

Hey you, welcome to my wonderful life and my lovely catering business – Claire’s Kitchen.

Every couple weeks I’ll be keeping you updated with the goings on from our beautiful location on the fringe of Exmoor National Park in Somerset, as well as providing you with help and advice on dietary needs, random recipes, organising my pop up kitchen events, running a busy events catering business, growing our own wonderful produce here in sunny Exmoor, as well as feeding the sheep and lambs!

Lots of exciting times have come along in the past 4 years, and there’s millions more awaiting me and the wonderful team that make up Claire’s Kitchen.

I have been experimenting with foods of the world over the past 5 years, perfecting our curry dishes over the past 12 years, and we keep getting the most amazing comments from our clients which drives us forward to become better and deliver a truly mouthwatering experience every time.

I am lucky to have worked with amazing clients and staff members alike – we will continue to achieve the best possible food experience at whatever event or venue we attend – from your party or stag do through to a wedding or funeral, we can support your catering needs in every possible way.

Steam Cooking on The Flying Scotsman with Claire’s Kitchen

Claires Kitchen were very proud to have been invited to create the food by West Somerset Railway, for not only the VIP launch of The Flying Scotsman but also the two night gourmet Scottish themed menu for the Friday and Saturday night, departing form Bishops Lydeard to Minehead Station.

This was a one off opportunity.We cooked up some amazing canapes and four course themed Scottish menu, which included Vegetarian Haggis Wellington, Wild Venison (from the wilds of Exmoor) Carpaccio with handpicked blackberries from my small holding, slowly braised Aberdeen Angus with a rich red wine reduction, rumbled thumps and seasonal local vegetables, followed by Raspberry Cranachan and thyme shortbread. All ingredients were locally sourced where possible and some homegrown. I even got to shovel coal and sit in the drivers chair,I think some of which was because of the tasters I took in there.

Working on the train was such fun, I will never forget this experience. During this event we had the wonderful photographer Julia Amies-Green Photography from Winsford who has captured every moment so fantastically, all photographic imagery is done by this talented lady, credit to Julia Amies-Green Photography.

Claire’s Street Food – Launching in 2020

A new idea for 2020 – Claire’s Street Food Trailer. We are talking to venues to setup regular sites including Tesco’s, Dunster Country Fair, Kids Cafe, Blue Anchor, Timberscombe, Wootton Courtenay, Endurocks and others.

We will also appear at one-off events, and can be booked for your special event. The trailer will feature food from around the world – if you have a favourite, let me know. We are building an amazing menu to include Greek, Mexican, Indian, Thai, Tapas, American, Vegan, Vegetarian & Keto friendly options.

Claire will be raising her own pigs, goats and lambs at home, for the trailer. Think of sizzling barbeque meats and Jamaican lamb curry – yummy!

Frozen Ready Meals – Swerve the virus and let us feed you

A new range of delicious frozen ready meals are now available. 

Collect them from our trailer, or we’ll deliver. Each week there will be a special added to the menu along with favourites such as:

  • 8-hour slow-cooked pork belly with onion gravy, mash and carrots (GF)   £5.00
  • Cottage pie with carrots and peas (GF)   £5.00
  • Shepherds pie with carrots and peas   £5.50
  • Chicken and leek pie with mash, carrots/peas and extra gravy   £5.50
  • Shin of beef pie with mash, carrots and peas and extra gravy   £5.95
  • Sausage, mash, carrots and peas with onion gravy   £4.50
  • Vegetable moussaka   £5.00
  • Butter bean and apricot tagine with pilau rice (GF) (Ve)   £4.75
  • Fish pie (with haddock, cod and salmon, boiled egg, leek bechamel) topped with a creamy mash   £6.00

And also

  • Sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce   £2.50

This is a small menu to start with, as we need to keep up with demand.  Please advise on any dietary requirements when ordering.
